Your company downsized and moved on. There was NOTHING wrong with you or the work that you did. But for the company's survival, they made a choice to continue without you. This is like the choice made by the proverbial coyote who chews off its own leg to get out of a trap. There wasn't anything wrong with the leg. But not to chew it was to remain trapped. And now you are the leg left behind. And the world wants you to stand on your own. Absurd! An unattached leg does not stand on its own!

You are not alone!
Millions of people are trying to do the same thing. This blog is here to be a forum for you and those like you. It will do no good for the leg to grumble about the lack of wisdom exhibited by the coyote. What is done is done. How absurd to think that a single leg will stand on its own. But at this point, your life is a string of absurdities. Would it help any if two legs leaned on each other? I don't know. Really! I'm playing with absurd analogies trying to figure out what to tell you. Putting two legs into position to lean on each other hasn't been tried. So, this is about trying. It's about mutual support. Walking is too much to ask. But leaning on each other just may keep us standing up a little longer.
